Panay Forest Frog Platymantis panayensis (Brown, Brown and Alcala)

Status: ENDEMIC and Rare
Habitat/Distribution: Range known only from Nabas, Culasi and Mt. Madja-as, all on Panay Island.
Habitat / Behavior: A small Platymantis similar to montanus. Microhabitats include leaf axils of screw pines, arboreal ferns, leaves of shrubs and duff of th forest floor. Altitudinal distribution is from 750 - 1,450 m.
Threats: Habitat loss and degradation are possible influences on the limited range of this species.
Interesting Information: SVL 25-32 mm; primary forest; oviparous;arboreal; nocturnal
